Iraq Denies Claim of Delivering Message from Trump to Iran
WANA (May 23) – The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs has denied claims regarding the delivery of a message from U.S. President Donald Trump to Iran by Iraq’s Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein.
On Friday, the Ministry released a statement addressing a recently published report titled “Trump gives Iran two weeks to withdraw its militia forces from Iraq”, which alleged that Fuad Hussein had conveyed a message from Trump to Iranian leaders on this matter.
The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that this claim was not made by any official source and described it as an example of unprofessional media conduct aimed at spreading false and inaccurate information and negatively influencing public opinion through a deliberate effort to defame Iraq.
The Ministry stressed that official statements and declarations issued by the Iraqi government or the Foreign Ministry are the only reliable sources for any information concerning Iraq’s foreign policy.
